Behavior:

Brown chromis forage in medium-sized schools above the coral reef, feasting on plankton, mainly copepods. They are frequently seen schooling with blue chromis, although their more territorial congeneric tends to chase them out from hiding places in the reef at night.

Predators:

Trumpetfish, grouper and snapper.
