Reef Smart’s Peter McDougall presented at this year’s Southeast Florida Artificial Reef Workshop put on by Florida Sea Grant in West Palm Beach on Tuesday.
Reef Smart presents at the 2018 Southeast Artificial Reefs Workshop
The workshop brought together representatives of the state’s various artificial reef program managers, along with conservationists, scientist, local stakeholders and members of law enforcement.
“It was great to have the chance to explain how Reef Smart can help improve users’ in-water experience–not to mention the potential educational and outreach opportunities of the mapping work we do,” says Peter McDougall, Reef Smart’s Editorial Director. “It was also great to meet up with some of our partners in the region.”
Reef Smart’s work in southeast Florida has included mapping a number of the wrecks in Broward County, and includes the nearly complete dive and snorkel guidebook for the county, with a publication date targeting later this year. Reef Smart is set to return to the region this summer to start mapping the wrecks and reefs of Palm Beach County as well.
You can watch footage of Peter’s presentation on the Florida Sea Grant’s website, click here, as well as on YouTube.
