“Everyone at Reef Smart is incredibly excited and proud of this guidebook, which represents the most detailed and complete work we have produced in our rapidly expanding series,” says managing director Ian Popple. “We were able to upgrade our 3D mapping process for this guidebook and the results are outstanding.” The mapping work was started last year in Grand Cayman, in partnership with Aggressor Adventures, and involved two additional returns to the island in 2019, in partnership with Cobalt Coast Resort, Sunset House Resort and Ocean Frontiers located in the island’s East End.

Reef Smart’s Grand Cayman guidebook describes the spectacular diving and snorkeling at 245 sites on the island and features an “in-depth dive” into 47 of the island’s top sites using our unique 3D modeling technology. The guidebook includes sites such as: Kittiwake, Babylon, Hepp’s Pipeline, Big Tunnels, Doc Poulson, Snapper Hole, Ironshore Gardens, The Maze, and many more. The guide book also contains a detailed species section, featuring over 100 different species and describing their common behaviors.

Reef Smart’s Grand Cayman guidebook will be available for purchase at all major book retailers across North America and Europe, including Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, IndieBound, Indigo and Chapters, Target, Walmart, Book & Books and Waterstones. The guidebook will also be available for purchase at local book retailers and dive operators in the Cayman Islands. Reef Smart is working on a second Cayman Islands guidebook focusing on Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, due for publication next year.
