Team back in the water as Cayman Islands mapping continues

The Reef Smart team consisting of Ian Popple, Otto Wagner and Camille Segonne, returned to the Cayman Islands to continue the mapping work started last year with Aggressor Adventures.

This next phase of mapping focuses on Cayman Brac, and is supported by Clearly Cayman Resorts, and the Reef Divers teams at Cayman Brac Beach Resort. Additional mapping in Grand Cayman’s West Bay area was also conducted with the support of Reef Divers at Cobalt Coast Beach Resort at the start of the trip.

“We’re excited to get the second phase of mapping underway with our new partner,” says Reef Smart creative director Otto Wagner. “The Cayman Islands are one of the world’s premier dive locations and we look forward to putting detailed 3D maps in the hands of divers and snorkelers, so they can get the most out of their in-water experience.”

An additional trip to Grand Cayman has been schedule for June, which will focus on mapping the island’s East End. This additional trip will take place in partnership with Ocean Frontiers at Compass Point Resort.
