Pete Tide II had a two decades-long career servicing oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico. Measuring 165 feet (50.5 meters) in length, she was originally built in 1973 by Halter Marine in Lockport, Louisiana. She was designed as an AHTS, or anchor-handling tug supply vessel. These sturdy boats were designed to tow large oil rigs out to location, as well as providing other supply services. She was deployed as an artificial reef in May 1993 and is one of the original members of the popular Florida Panhandle Shipwreck Trail. Pete Tide II is in excellent condition despite her many years underwater, and she hosts a variety of reef fish.
