Bob Soto’s Reef is one of the world’s first recreational dive sites – Bob Soto opened the first dive center in the Cayman Islands back in the 1950s at this location. Today, the reef remains a population spot for divers and snorkelers of all experience levels due to its superb location, which is relatively protected from waves and currents, its exceptional visibility, diverse marine life and shallow depth, which provides divers with plenty of bottom time. The site can be reached easily from shore via Living The Dream Dive Center’s jetty. Macro-photographers are in for a treat, with plenty of small cryptic species, such as banded coral shrimp, arrow crabs and yellowhead jawfish. Divers and snorkelers may also encounter stingrays, hogfish, angelfish, parrotfish, jacks and plenty of tarpon. The reef has plenty of swim-throughs for those with the skill and experience to explore inside the reef.
