Behavior:
Yellowtail snapper are typically associated with coral reefs in coastal waters from the US state of Massachusetts down to Brazil. They often form schools above reefs and are less commonly seen along the seafloor. They eat plankton and small benthic organisms.
Predators:
Sharks, barracuda, mackerel, snapper and grouper.
