Behavior:

Yellowtail reeffish feed mainly on crustaceans and plankton. They are found deeper than most other chromis species – usually greater than 100 feet (30.5 meters).

Predators:

Grouper, snapper and eels.

The yellowtail reeffish has an extensive distribution that extends throughout the Western Atlantic as well as some locations in the Eastern Atlantic, around South Africa and into the Indian Ocean.
