Behavior:

A solitary ambush predator, tiger grouper are easily identified by the tiger stripes that run from the dorsal fin down either side of the fish. They vary in color from black, red, tan to yellow. They feed on a variety of fish, including grunts, parrotfish, croakers, angelfish and damselfish.

Predators:

Sharks, large grouper and mackerel.
