Behavior:

Flying gurnards are often found along sand-bottomed areas near the reef, foraging for benthic crustaceans, crabs, clams and small fish. They get their name from their fan-like pectoral fins that make it look like they are flying when they swim.

Predators:

Sharks, tuna, mahi mahi, grouper and bigeye.
