Behavior:

Sand perch are typically found in shallow, coastal waters next to seagrass beds and on sand or rubble bottoms. They build burrows and retreat into their shelters when scared. They primarily hunt shrimp, crabs and small fish.

Predators:

Grouper, snapper, drums and sea bass.
