Behavior:

Queen conch are the world’s largest marine snail. They are found mainly on sandy reef areas and seagrass beds, where they graze on algae and detritus (decaying plants and animals). Queen conch are most active at night and, when threatened, can retreat into their shell for protection.

Predators:

Nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays and stingrays.

Did you know?

Queen conch appear to be slow moving to our eyes, but they are actually the “racehorses” of the snail world, capable of moving almost 330ft (100m) in a single day.
