Behavior:

Porkfish are abundant in Florida waters, particularly on reefs and rocky bottoms. They adapt to new habitats, which makes them common on artificial reefs. They cruise the reef slowly during the day, often in schools. At night, they hunt for molluscs, echinoderms (sea stars and urchins) and crustaceans.

Predators:

Grouper and jacks.
