Ocean Wind is 87-foot (26.5-meter) tugboat deployed by Escambia County as an artificial reef in January 2016. Ironically, she was the tug charged with towing many of the wrecks destined for reef deployment over the past years—making her a fitting addition the county’s reef program. The wreck plays host to numerous fish species, including triggerfish, soapfish and Goliath grouper. She sits upright with a slight list to port on a sandy seafloor. She is relatively intact and offers plenty of penetration opportunities for divers with appropriate experience.
