Behavior:
Little tunny spend most of their time in open water but are often found close to shore and in areas with stronger currents. They opportunistically feed on anything they can find, including fish, crustaceans and squid, sometimes creating a frenzy at the surface as they hunt a bait ball of herring or anchovies. The little tunny can form large schools with similar species, sometimes consisting of as many as 5000 individual fish.
Predators:
Sharks, mackerel and other large pelagic fish.

The little tunny is found throughout the Atlantic Ocean, from Brazil to Cap Cod in the United States, and from South Africa to Europe. The Little Tunny is also found in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea.
