Behavior:

Feather blennies get their name from the feathery cirri located on the top of their head that help them sense movement in their environment. They mainly eat small molluscs and crustaceans. Males aggressively guard eggs, which are laid on the substrate.

Predators:

Grouper, snapper, eels and tripletail.

Did you know?

The feather blenny is found from the northern Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico up the Atlantic coast of North America as far north as Nova Scotia, Canada. This species is not found in the southern Caribbean.
