Did you know?
Fairy basslet males spend a lot of time maintaining a small shelter in the reef in the hope of attracting a female. If the male is successful, the female will lay her eggs in his shelter and he will maintain the nest. He will remove sand and other debris, and defend the eggs from other reef creatures.
