Behavior:
Cubera snapper are the biggest of the Atlantic snapper species. Adults are often seen alone on deeper reefs and wrecks, while juveniles are generally in shallower water near vegetation, including estuaries. Cubera snapper feed on fish as well as crustaceans. such as shrimp, crabs and lobsters. Large individuals are rarely removed from the water when caught on fishing lines due to concerns about ciguatera poisoning.

Sharks and large grouper.
Did you know?
In the summer months, around the full moon, cubera snapper gather to reproduce in their thousands at traditional snapper spawning sites. These sites have been targeted by fishers over the years and the species is now listed as “vulnerable” on the IUCN Red List.
