Behavior:
Cobia are found worldwide in temperate and tropical waters. Their habitat incudes shallow estuaries and inshore reefs, as well as the offshore pelagic zone of the ocean, typically around drifting or stationary objects such as a vessel or oil rig. They are a popular gamefish, often caught using handlines or by trolling. They eat small grouper and other fish, as well as crabs and squid.

Sharks and mahi-mahi.

The cobia is closely related to the remora family – a group of fish also known as suckerfish or sharksuckers because of their ability to attach to larger marine creatures. Remora attached to their host using a modified organ on their head that allows them to create suction.
