Kris Garland

Born and raised in the United States, Kris earned her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from The University of Kansas. She worked in Hawaii and San Diego in advertising and marketing before moving to Sydney in 2013. She met the Reef Smart founders while diving in Barbados as they were mapping their first book. A passionate conservationist, she recognized their unique offering and shared concern for the ocean environment and so she joined the team.

An avid traveller and diving enthusiast, she is working to help Reef Smart educate and inform responsible individuals and organizations around the world. Kris is a PADI Rescue Diver with over eight years of diving experience.
