Behavior:

Rosy razorfish are commonly found in open sandy areas near coral reefs. They are active during the day as they feed on small sand-dwelling invertebrates, such as crabs, shrimp and worms. Large males often defend a harem of females within their territory.

Predators:

Grouper, snapper, barracuda and dolphins.

Razorfish get their name from their knife-like body shape, which has a “sharp” bony ridge that runs along the forehead and snout. Their body shape is perfectly suited for diving head-first into the sand, which is how they avoid potential predators.
